What is packaging consumption?
Packaging Consumption is an application where bookings for Volvo Packaging is automatically generated based on what was confirmed in the Automatic Transport Booking Request (Auto TBR) in ShipIT.
When an Auto TBR is confirmed, packaging details of the confirmed booking is generating a Packaging Consumption Request (PCR) that is displayed in the Packaging Consumption app. The packaging details is based on the connected packaging instruction in PackIT.
The purpose of the application is to enable for Suppliers to update or delete the PCR before it is sent from ShipIT to the LES Web Portal.
How to use it
Access
Firstly, in order to see and use the Packaging Consumption app, you need to have MATERIAL SUPPLIER PMR role assigned to your ShipIT User ID. To gain this role, please create a ticket as picture below:
Once access has been gained you will see the application in ShipIT.
Packaging Consumption Application
When opening a PCR in packaging consumption you can:
- Add packaging material.
- Change quantity.
- Remove packaging material.
- Delete the booking
Note that Packaging Consumption Requests can be updated until 10:00 PM local time on the day of pick up. After this time, all PCRs for that specific day will be automatically sent to the LES system.
