Tracking devices and infrastructure

  • Updated

Volvo uses tracking technologies to monitor our goods and assets. The purpose of this tracking is to know the status and location of for instance packaging and production material in order to secure production, or to analyze conditions in transit when a risk for delivery or quality has been identified.

Privacy

At no point will Volvo track or analyze data related to a person, whether that be a driver or operator handling Volvo goods, or a person in the vicinity of tracking devices or infrastructure. The technologies in use are not able to identify anything other than the identity of the devices themselves and the goods they have been configured to represent, and personal details are not requested or logged by Volvo Group. While Volvo Group has a legitimate interest in monitoring our goods, we will not monitor or analyze the behaviour of individual drivers, operators, or other persons nor share tracking information to third parties that would enable this type of monitoring or analysis by others.
