Ocean Booking Request (OBR)

A request from a First Consignor to Logistics Services for moving container(s)to the Volvo Plant/Last consignee. The OBR can be shipped on multiple transport legs carried out by different Carriers.

Original Consignor / Consignor

A gate at the Customer Unit to which a shipment is to be finally delivered. In ATLAS, a Place of Delivery is represented either by a suffix number or a Parma code.

Proof of Collection (POC) - The document

A document based on TB information. It should be printed out on the collection day, filled in with updated information in accordance with the Transport Instruction, signed both by the First Consignor and the driver and handed over to the driver.

Proof Of Collection (POC) - The event in the system

Suffix

A gate at the Customer Unit to which a shipment is to be finally delivered. The suffix is normally the place of delivery mentioned in the call off from the Final Consignee. In most cases the last three digits in the order number from a company within the Volvo Group display the suffix (for example: 020, 200, 300).

Temperature Controlled Goods

Goods that needs to be transported in a certain temperature. Usually in a reefer container where the temperature can be regulated and set to a specific degree

TBR - Template

To make the TBR creation easier you can also create a TBR by using a template with pre-populated data. It can be useful to use a template if you frequently have the same kind of orders, e.g. to the same place of delivery, the same THU type, same number of THUs etc., allowing you to further facilitate the TBR creation process.

THU

Transport Handling Unit, e.g. Pallet, Box

THU Type

Type of packaging (Volvo standard emballage), e.g. pallet L1, F4, L2B. If no standard packaging, “OTHER” is used and dimensions in metric are entered manually. Exception is US where “General” is used for dimensions entered in imperial system (ft).

Transport Status (TS)

A transport event used by the Carrier or the Crossdock to report deviations on THU (colli) level. Can also be used for delays.

Draft

Saved transport request in Shipit that has not been confirmed yet – the shipper can still edit it and confirm before the deadline.
