Checklist for ordering empty packaging

Note that you order empty packaging in bundles. VGLS delivers during the requested week, VGLS cannot deliver on a specific date.

Always confirm your 4 digit SLOC/storage location number when contacting us.


Order in Bundles 
Yes - Bundles | No - Pieces

Orders must be placed in bundles and not in individual pieces.
Exterior packaging will be added to complete bundles, ensuring you receive the exact quantities in
complete bundles as ordered.


Deadline - Mondays 23:59 CET
Order Submission Deadline New order deadline: Mondays at 23:59 CET for the upcoming week. No limit on the number of weeks for which you can place orders. Users are encouraged to request empty packaging needs as early as possible. 

 
Order Processing:
Planners schedule distribution a week before delivery. On Wednesdays, orders are processed and optimized. Carriers receive booking files and must submit the delivery plan by Thursday at 14:00.
The ETA in the LES portal is only updated after Thursday at 14:00. Adjustment to delivery date may still occur. 


As we work with delivery weeks and not days, we never guarantee any specific delivery date.


Delivery Weeks
Delivery Schedule The given delivery date on the portal only indicates the requested delivery week. Depending on the region, deliveries cannot be made on a specific date

 

Reference Number Structure
Order Processing Status Each reference number indicates the processing stage of your order:

  • 1) 1XXXXXXX: Order not yet processed; still changeable until 6 days before delivery week.
  • 2) 3XXXXXXXXX: Order is being processed.
  • 3) 8XXXXXXXX: Delivery reference has been created.


Ensure you follow these guidelines to maintain smooth logistics and avoid any processing delays!

 

 

Adjustment of order requests

At times of limited packaging availability (for various reasons), VGPL may be forced to carry out order adjustments. VGPL reserves the right to:

  • Postpone, reduce partially or whole the quantity of a specific packaging type
  • Increase requested order quantities if the volume is below a certain level
  • Group order requests (i.e., consolidation of small order quantities to deliver before or after required delivery week)

The order adjustments are made taking the following into consideration:

  • Packaging availability
  • Stock levels on user’s packaging accounts
  • Environmental impact (i.e., transport optimization costs)

In case of any adjustment VGPL will inform the user.

 

 

Why am I blocked from ordering packaging?

There can be different reasons for a blockage to appear on your packaging account. Below you can find the most common reasons and which ticket option to choose for support.

 

Blocked

If you cannot place a packaging request in LES because the Material Status is = "Storage Location Blocked" then it is likely one of the reasons below are the cause.

  • Not performing mandatory inventory
  • Unpaid invoices
  • No response regarding change of company information

Overstock

If you cannot place a packaging request in LES because the Material Status is = "Not Orderable (Overstock)" then your stock balance is too high compared to usage per day (ADU).

Terms of delivery

Normal terms of delivery for empty packaging are Delivery at Place (DAP) but other terms may apply for shipments to specific countries.

 

 

Insurance

Every user of V-EMB is liable to pay compensation to VGPL if the packaging should disappear or be damaged whilst it is their responsibility. It is, therefore, very important that all users adequately ensure the packaging is registered on their account. This applies to all users.
